The annual Fourth of July “Weekend” fell midweek this year. So, it was a small but contented group that celebrated in and around our lodge and at the Warren Parade. Solo, or as a group, we biked, we ran, we hiked, we camped, we hung out at the lodge and at Lake Dunmore, and we enjoyed our fire pit. All of the stuff that we love to do off-season—we did—often between the raindrops. We even barbecued in the rain and performed our obligatory dance with sparklers (the “sparkle dance”) when the skies cleared. The Warren Parade theme this year (its 59th year) was “Fueling the Future.” Our photos , capture some of the parade participants’ interpretation of the theme, as well as some opposing or other political points of view. Based upon an informal survey of the “weekend,” a good time was had by all. |

It all started with Pigs Fly 2000. It’s been on again, off again since then, but . . . the Pig is Back! The Short Hills Ski Club is having another pig roast at the lodge, courtesy of members John Strauss and Matt Zavatsky. It’s the weekend of August 11-12, 2007 and it’s always a weekend full of surprises, not the least of which is the pig. Check out the photos of our past pig roasts. Contact
